Well I got distracted again. Found a new ride to use to get to work and once I am more confident in my riding skills hopefully will use it as I cover ground to pursue photography. This bike really is fun and helps me get to the top of the mountain faster than my walking. While this does have a motor to assist it still gets me the exercise...eggs are sides...bacon.... is it oh wait. Well if you are as curious as this deer was about it here is the link. https://amzn.to/2KUtoXn

Here is one of my latest videos. Driving north from Hwy 90 on HWY 17. You can catch glimpses of hotel Saint George, Judd Foundation, the Palace, Paisano, Presidio County courthouse, etc. Thank you for your patience as I tinker with YouTube video channel. youtu.be/ozpthq8EmW8
I enjoy being able to drive some of the most scenic roads just about daily. I am playing with setting up a you tube channel to share the views with you. Hopefully I am not such a slacker with the videos as I have been with my photography page and blog. Thanks to all of you that still check in to see if anything new. Check out my videos at:
www.youtube.com/channel/UCka4ENdxpkHpeGG1bkO65cA/ Well first my bad. I have sure failed as a blog writer so far. lol.
To get started up again here is another nice product I like is the solar powered flash light lantern from survival frog. spenac.srvvlfrog.hop.clickbank.net/?p=pl&tid= It is a flashlight, a lantern, and a phone charger among other things. Takes up very little room and I sure like it. Be sure and check it out. Some great artists shared their images of deer recently. The winner was Daniel Eskridge. White Tailed Deer Reflected by Daniel Eskridge Second place was Fauna Among The Flora by Rick Wiles Third place went to The Magical Season by Lori Deiter And there were lots of other great images of deer. Check them all out here. https://fineartamerica.com/contests/deer-only.html?tab=leaderboard
Some times you can't take a long trip but never forget the areas within the days drive. On Monday February 18, 2019 I was able to take my wife of nearly 30 years on a great day trip to see the Big Bend bluebonnets in the desert of west Texas. The circle from our house is just over 280 miles. The river road (FM170) between Presidio and Terlingua is just over 60 miles long. It is a winding narrow road most often with very little traffic.
The river road on the border of Texas and Mexico blooms with the Big Bend bluebonnets for just a very short period of time each year and those that make the journey are treated to majestic mountain and river views accented with a wide and surprising variety of flora and fauna. While this is a day trip make sure your vehicle is in good working order. Have some emergency supplies in case you break down or get stranded during a rare mountain down pour that can cause arroyos to flood and trap you temporarily away from civilization. If at all possible in your life time take time out of life and make this journey in mid February to enjoy seeing the desert bloom.
Well I managed to lock myself out of my own webpage. Did a couple of updates and took me a while to get things corrected. Hopefully I am back to stay!! Maybe I need to get website for dummies book.
While I like to go out and enjoy nature I still find I enjoy my time outdoors and doing photography when I start my day with certain comforts. I don't like to carry many extras but do like to have fresh brewed coffee rather than instant coffee. I have tried collapsible coffee drip systems and actually like them and keep one still but I have become a coffee snob according to some as I really like coffee from my French press much better. Both are simple to use and worth having. Not much cost for either. The French press I liked so much as did my wife that we switched to using one at home as well. https://amzn.to/2SZ9xHX
![]() While the approximately 2 extra feet may not seem like much they make a huge difference, Trust me!!! The space helps with a place to change clothes, to store extra gear while camping, to avoid claustrophobia, etc. Sure makes for more peaceful sleep which means more energy to get out and explore and take photos. The real big plus is sure makes it easier to get in and out of the bed. Rather than climbing over the tailgate you just climb onto it. And for a bonus when its warm you can leave rain flap up and have a nice open screen to help allow a cool mountain breeze to flow thru. Be sure and check them out. Great investment for your travel comfort. https://amzn.to/2RtHx1s
First I apologize that I have neglected my webpage and even sharing my photos on any location.
I am far from an eloquent writer. My grammar is lousy and will make you cringe. I hope to be able to share some of my adventures and some of the things I have found helpful as I explore the great outdoors. Some items I post about are ones I would eventually like to try as well. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to check out my page. Please save the page and check back frequently. Camping can be a great part of the photo expeditions. As I am getting older climbing in and out of the truck is tougher so I have started using a DAC truck tailgate tent or topper tent. I will try to write more about it soon. Here is a link to check it out. |
